Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Ryan has always been drawn to the vibrancy and friendliness of cities across Canada—especially the kind of vibrancy you can’t quite put your finger on, the intangible qualities that give places their unique energy and character. This curiosity shapes not only his professional work, but his personal outlook as well.

His experience comes from an education in Urban Studies and Urban Planning, with a focus on researching connections between waste, urban design, and placemaking. His approach emphasizes sustainable development as a catalyst for more thoughtful, vibrant, and resilient places.

Outside the office, Ryan can be found on one of Calgary’s many trails running or biking, or exploring the city’s dynamic food scene.
