The comprehensive 95-acre West District Master Plan consciously trades sprawl for urbanism on the last large parcel of land yet to be built-out on Calgary’s west side.
After nearly 10 years of build-out progress, the master planned neighbourhood of West District, led by CivicWorks and Truman, is taking shape as a vibrant, compact, transit-supportive, and amenity rich activity centre for west Calgary. The area is rapidly developing with a mix of residential, commercial, and mixed-use buildings - from 3-storey townhomes to 12-storey mixed-use buildings, including an urban-format grocery store.
West District is anchored by the Broadcast Avenue Main Street, a commercial mixed-use spine through the centre of West District that connects 77 Street to 85 Street. At the heart of the neighbourhood is the 8.0ac Radio Park, an innovative open space for residents and visitors, with year-round programming and sustainable stormwater management.
